The Father Zorzi Award was created in January of 2013 by the Toronto Junior Argonauts. This award is offered in memory of Father Zorzi, a friend of the Junior Argos. The award is given to a graduating student of St. Michael's College School who, through his involvement in Football and Educational opportunities, has best shown the following qualities: Kindness, leadership, love of learning and strong community values. The recipient is determined by the Bursary Committee members at St. Michael's College School.
The Toronto Junior Argonauts welcomed the opportunity to participate in the Taste of the Kingsway, a very popular street festival held annually a September weekend. Our booth was on Bloor St. near Royal York, right in the centre of the action. We welcomed many interested youth and their families and spoke to them about the Jr Argos. We were lucky to have several Coaches, Players and Board members at the booth to speak with passers - by. A very exciting raffle took place for a chance to win a free 2015 season fee! Congrats Dave Macdonald on winning a prize worth $675!! We look forward to the 2015 Taste of the Kingsway – hope to see you there.
This year the Toronto Junior Argos were thrilled to be invited to participate in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in downtown Toronto. Coaches, players, and Board members donned their Jerseys and bundled up for the march which started on St. George , continued onto Bloor in front of the R.O.M. and then proceeded down Yonge Street turning on Queen and winding up on University Avenue. What a festive atmosphere along the route!! Torontonians came out in droves to cheer and wear their Kelly green. Sound fun to you? Want to be cheered like a rock star? Keep your eye on our website for your invitation to march with us this March!
