Parental Code of Conduct

I will provide positive support, care, and encouragement for all players participating in the Toronto Gridiron Minor Tackle Football Club. I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for players, coaches, and officials at games, practices, and other league events. I will place the emotional and physical well being of players ahead of any personal desire to win. I will discourage the use of illegal or performance-enhancing substances among players. I will encourage my child to treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect, regardless of race, gender, creed, or ability. I will support coaches and officials in providing a positive and rewarding sports environment for players. I have read and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct while a member of the Toronto Gridiron Minor Tackle Football Club.

Players's Code of Conduct

The player agrees to participate in the Toronto Gridiron Minor Tackle Football Club to the best of his/her ability and accepts responsibility for his/her actions on and off the field of play. The player will demonstrate good sportsmanship on and off the field of play at all times. The player will exercise self-control and listen and learn from coaches. The player will be courteous and treat coaches, other players, officials, and fans with respect, regardless of race, gender, creed, or ability. The player will refrain from the use of foul or abusive language on and off the field of play. The player will respect the integrity and judgment of game officials. The player will win with character and lose with dignity.

Playing Time is Earned

Given the level of play in our league, no player, parent, or guardian should assume (a guaranteed amount of) playing time during games. The amount of play and the use of said player is at the sole discretion of the team's coaches. Many things are taken into consideration regarding playing time, including experience, talent level, committment to the team (including attendance at all practices and games) and overall attitude; yet there still needs to be an understanding that unlike other sports, there are no guaranteed 'shifts' in football. We want this point made very clear before the season begins.

Equipment/Property Return Policy

When your child's football season has ended, ALL equipment/property must be returned during the allotted times or when alternate arrangement plans have been made with the EQUIPMENT DIRECTOR. If your child decides to not finish the season, then arrangements should be made with the Equipment Director at his/her convenience for its prompt return. Failure to return the equipment in a reasonable time-frame (deemed appropriate by the Toronto Gridiron Minor Tackle Football Club Inc. playing as Toronto Junior Argonauts) will result in an invoice for the approximate replacement cost. Current estimate of the equipment cost is $500. "Equipment" includes helmets, shoulder pads, pants, belts, knee pads, kidney pads, tailbone pad, thigh pads, etc. "Property" is anything else loaned by the team to the player such as footballs, training items, etc.

Right to Cut Players

The Board, in consultation with the coach, has the right to request a player leave the organization. Upon the player being notified of the decision, the player will be removed from the active roster and will not be allowed to play nor practice with the team. Also, the player will be provided a full refund of monies paid minus $75 administration fee upon receipt of all equipment assigned to the player.
